The farmers market
When you visit the Downtown Hattiesburg Farmers Market expect to find more local produce and goods than you can imagine in one place. But that’s not all!
Visitors will also enjoy live music as well as handmade artisan goods. Vendors can include food trucks too. Some days you may get a surprise treat like homemade root beer floats or fresh-squeezed lemonade.
What to expect
While it’s hard to say exactly what you’ll find with each visit to the Downtown Hattiesburg Farmers Market, one thing is clear. You will find plenty of it!
There is always a large selection of fresh seasonal produce. Plump red tomatoes, bright yellow squash, brilliant green zucchini, red ripe strawberries and gigantic leafy greens are just a few of the farmers market staples.
Vendors have also been known to travel for miles to bring their goods and wares to the market each Thursday.
For instance, Fulmer’s Farmstead is a regular vendor willing to travel about 26 miles to come from nearby New Augusta. They offer customers fresh produce and fresh baked goods.
Stock up on an assortment of homemade cookies and breads such as jalapeño, apple harvest or cinnamon raisin, for example.
You can also get the goods you need to grow your own garden. Find potted tomato plants and other herbs plus pretty potted flowers!
Did we mention you can also get locally raised farm-to-table beef from vendors like Honestly Beef? You can load up on steaks, roasts, burgers and other specialty cuts at the market too!
