Wild nights of winter fun await you! And, you’ll have plenty of cool critters to celebrate the season too. So, if you’re ready for some holly-jolly festivities, check out Lights of the Wild 2021 at the Hattiesburg Zoo now through the 23rd. Before you start planning your trip, though, we’ll give you all the details you need to know.

About Lights of the Wild 2021

You can join in the holiday cheer with new human and animal friends alike at Lights of the Wild 2021 at the Hattiesburg Zoo. This event from Jones Companies and the zoo comes chock-full of cool activities and features like:

  • Train rides;
  • Carousel rides;
  • Animal encounters;
  • Photos with Santa Claus;
  • Storybook readings from Mrs. Claus;
  • Holiday food and drinks for sale;
  • And more.

If you’ve never been to the Hattiesburg Zoo, this season is an amazing time to visit. Not only can you enjoy Lights of the Wild, but you can also go to the zoo during its regular Tuesday to Sunday hours. It offers attractions like:

  • The High Ropes Adventure Course;
  • The Bug Hub playground;
  • A splash pad in the summer months;
  • The “Touch Africa” Petting Zoo.
  • A mining expedition; and
  • The Australian Wallaby Walkabout.

And, of course, we can’t forget about the animals! The Zoo is home to residents like:

  • Axolotls;
  • Golden eagles;
  • Lowland tapirs;
  • Sloths;
  • Jaguars;
  • Giant anteaters;

Visiting Details

Whether you want to check out Lights of the Wild, or you think it’s time for a zoo trip, you’re in for a great time at the Hattiesburg Zoo. Lights of the Wild runs select nights now through Dec. 23, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are limited. They cost $14 for December 3 to 5 and December 11 and 12, or $18 for Dec 17 to 23. Children aged 2 and younger can attend for free. Learn more here.

The Zoo also holds its regular hours from 10 a.m. 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. You can find it at 107 S. 17th Ave.
