We’re less than a month away from 2020! Right now, we’re smack-dab in the busiest time of year too! That means that while many of us have plans for December holidays, we still haven’t decided exactly how we’re going to ring in a brand-new decade. If you’re searching for a way to start 2020 off on the right foot, you could always spend New Year’s Eve in Downtown Hattiesburg. Never been? Wondering what’s going on this year? We have all you need to know!
We all like a bit of excitement to end the year—and kick off the next one! This year, our town is pulling out all the stops. When you spend New Year’s Even in Downtown Hattiesburg, you can look forward to fun features like:
- Music from DJ Kuhjo;
- Breakfast at midnight from select restaurants, such as The Porter and Blu Jazz;
- Dual fireworks displays;
- Street vendors;
- The second annual Hub Sign Drop; and
- A countdown to midnight by Mayor Toby Barker.
Festivities will officially begin at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 in Downtown Hattiesburg! Specifically, they’ll be held where Front Street and Main Street meet. And just think—by the time the event is over, we’ll be living in the future: the year 2020! Bring your loved ones to this free gathering—and consider bringing money for souvenirs and delicious food!
Just remember that the nearby roads will start to close off by 7 p.m. so that the city can get ready for festivities! Plan your travel accordingly—and drive safely!
Making friends, going on fun trips, and experiencing new things—2019 has been jam-packed with marvelous memories. Though the year still has a bit of time left in it, you can rest easy knowing that you have a great place to ring in 2020: spending New Year’s Even in Downtown Hattiesburg.
